Setting up the RV and heading off….

Posted by on September 2, 2011

Well, we finally have the RV home (the paperwork here is unbelievable and they are a stickler for rules – people get sued for everything here!)

This is only a short post as we are on our way today and heading towards Niagara Falls. We are staying in some places that don’t have internet, so will post when we can.

Our RV has arrived

Flynn and Amber get the bed over the cab

Kit and Chayse sleeping on the fold out lounge.

Akaisha on Mum and Dad's bed

We haven’t taken a photo of Kaitlin and Jai’s bunk bed yet, but I’m sure we’ll have many before the trip is through.

We went out to a family restaurant called Friendlies (probably much like a McDonalds in Australia.) on our last night in Pennsylvania and in true style, the sweets did not disappoint!

Did Chayse get through this?...you betcha!

I think Amber will be sharing in future!

So, until our next post……stay safe.

Well done guys – on the road at last – a big effort. Stay safe and enjoy yourselves. Niagara Falls meets the Howitt kids. And it was once such a quiet, serene attraction 🙂

Hi Scott. Saw Niagara Falls today. Pretty awesome, though very touristy. Yes, the quiet, serene attraction was shattered by us. Had a great time.

Hi Jodie, Gary, Samantha and Lauren,
Lovely to hear from you. Just sorting photos so it will be easier to put on the blog. The Falls were great. Mother Nature can be pretty awesome that’s for sure. Take care.

PS, can’t see a way to sign up to automatically receive updates. I know on my blog on wordpress you can set this up. Cheers

      Hi Christian,
Great to hear from you. Doing lots of video footage, although when Kaitlin gets the camera, it mainly consists of herself and Jai doing teenage stuff! I ike the idea of automatically receiving updates……….now I just have to find the time to do it. 🙂
We hear you’ve been over to the states several times. If you read this, send us a link to your blog. I’d love the rest of my family and friends to see your awesome photography.
      Cheers, Cath and Trev

        Ok blog to blog.
I have just looked up your blog again, and you’ve been busy!! Enjoying seeing your travels. We had hoped to do a RV trip at the beginning of this year, but didin’t work out getting everyone’s schedule. Katie is in 3rd year of uni doing social work, and had a prac component over the holidays at a family counselling centre.
Our son Michael got married 2 weeks ago, and is in first year doing primary teaching! I think another male in the system is a good thing and got a lovely card from his ‘prac’ class kids!
all the best and keep up the good work! love Christian and Angela

          Hi Christian and Angela,
Just checked your blog out. Looks fantastic Christian and as usual, beautiful photos. Your son and his new wife look gorgeous, and I agree, the more males in the Education system, the better.
Thanks for checking out our blog. We are having a ball.

    Have great time

If we had to leave tomorrow (which we don’t), our trip would have been worth it. Will continue to have a great time too 🙂
      Love Cath

    Hey Howitts!
What an adventure – you look like you’re having so much fun, it’s great to read about your travels, thanks for the blog invite.
Where are you guys now? Probably sleeping, I guess. It’s 1:30pm in Perth (sorry if i woke you!).
Looking forward to checking back in with you in the future.

PS A student of mine has gone up to Christmas Island and is having a ball!!

    • drivinguscrazy

      Hi Heath,
It’s a pleasure to hear from you. At the moment we are in Canada. Crossed the border today to see Niagara Falls from this side as well. So much to see, so little time! Will put a post up about the Falls soon. We are 12 hours behind you guys. (So we would have been sleeping when you were posting your comment.)
Look forward to hearing more about what you’ve been up to as well.
Cheers Cath and Trev and kids.
PS: Christmas Island is lovely. Has your friend been to Cocos for a visit?

  6. Katie

Hi, you guys never fail to inspire and amaze us! Will your adventure bring you as far as Hong Kong? Have fun!
    BTW what a beautiful family!!
    Love always,
